May 13, 1892, Birmingham v. Atlanta, at Atlanta: “The Birmingham boys sprang from their bench and moved into the field like printers when the bell tapped. Team genealogy: Birmingham 1892-1893
Birmingham joined the Southern League (SL) in 1892 when the league reformed. The reorganized SL operated between 1892 and 1896 and folded after the 1896 season. Birmingham played in the SL in 1892 and 1893. The team was transferred to Pensacola on July 28, 1893. Information from wikipedia.com and baseball-reference.com.
