March 1893: “The [Macon] management has decided to adopt a bottle-green uniform with maroon trimmings. […] It has also been decided to have different colored caps for the batteries, infield and outfield, by which a player’s position can be readily distinguished.” From The Sporting Life, March 11, 1893.
