Team genealogy: Pastime, Baltimore 1860-1870
Pastime was formed in Baltimore, Maryland, when two local clubs, Excelsior and Waverly, merged in late 1860. Pastime was a member of the National Association of Base Ball Players (NABBP), baseball’s first organization operating 1857-1870. The club chose to remain amateur with the advent of open professionalism in 1869 and played their last competitive games in 1870. –Information from Peter Morris and others, Base Ball Pioneers, 1850-1870 (2012).
